Road Construction / Asphalt Surface Treatments

When considering your maintenance options for asphalt pavements, one of the tools that should be considered is the liquid asphalt surface treatment. Commonly referred to as "oil and stone", or "oil and chip". This process remains a viable economical resurfacing technique, as it has for many years.

While there are many variations of asphalt surface treatments, the basic concept is a thin coating of liquid asphalt applied at a rate of 0.25 to 0.5 gallons per square yard onto an existing road. A layer of clean crushed aggregate nominally sized from 1/4" to 1/2", spread evenly over the asphalt and rolled into place then follows this coating. This process than can be repeated for a double surface treatment.

PII produces all its own liquid asphalt, thus assuring you high quality product at competitive prices. We only use state of the art asphalt distributors and self-propelled chip spreaders that incorporate the latest electronic controls. With our years of proven experience and, thousands of miles of successfully liquid asphalt surfaced roads behind us, we have the know-how to help you with your maintenance needs.
